Who We Are
Founded in 1889, the Woman’s Club of Rutherford (WCR) provides opportunities for community service, fellowship, education and leadership through participation in meaningful projects as well as programs of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC). Individual skills, talents and abilities are developed while members work to support the arts, advocate conservation efforts, advance education, promote healthy lifestyles and encourage civic involvement.
Organized in 1894, The NJSFWC is the largest volunteer women's service organization in the state and a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) located in Washington, DC, with nearly 80,000 members.
The GFWC is united in its dedication to volunteer community service. While diverse in age, interests, and experiences, all clubwomen are united by a desire to create positive change in their communities.
* To be part of an ongoing respected organization of women who share common goals and interests
* To have the opportunity for friendship while working together toward common goals
* To have a voice in policy making
* Involvement in local, state and national activities
* Leadership training
Our members' interests are varied and diverse and range from fundraising, arts & crafts, education, social services to public affairs, conservation and the arts.
